I had a pair of old boots blow out on me last summer hiking around upper cliffs and gumboot, came down off the mountain for a new pair of boots and they were so helpful and hooked me up with a great pair boots and some new socks! The place to go for outdoor equipment in Mt Shasta. They also rent skis, climbing equipment, and bikes. Friendly and expert staff. These people know their stuff!
I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada in 2016 and heard a lot of good things about The Fifth Season in Mount Shasta from fellow hikers. I heard everything from good inventory to helping with warranty claims on gear not purchased in store. I decided to go in during a ski trip this year and enjoyed getting a pair of Darn Tough ski socks and seeing what it is all about. Good gear shops definitely deserve a mention. Thanks guys. The socks rock.
