I was guided by Dane and he went above & beyond my expectations to make sure I had a wonderful experience. He went out of his way to explain techniques that would make me a better climber. We spoke at length about snow conditions & climbing routes explaining all the best options ultimately leaving the decisions to me. He never hurried me or short changed my day of climbing and skiing.
My wife has summitted with them several times, and nobody spends more time on the mountain -- climbing, skiing, and helping to rescue those who need it -- than Shasta Mountain Guides. As a local, I wouldn't climb with anyone else.
Don't know what the negative reviewer was upset about, but Chris and Jenn Carr have been guiding climbers on Mt. Shasta for decades. To question their professionalism is more than a little amusing -- every time the Breast Cancer Climb comes to town, they choose to work with Shasta Mountain Guides.
These guys are great. Climbed and skied with Chris Carr and company in early May. Great spring conditions, beautiful weather, good food, friendly guides, and a fabulous trip for our crew of 8.

This is not a professional outfit-don't waste your money. They do not have an office-we met in the parking lot of a store that is NOT affiliated; they do not provide anything except someone to show you the way. We were asked to sort our gear on a lawn and sprinklers kept coming on and soaking it. Don't expect honesty about conditions or fitness requirements-they just want you to sign up, they don't care what happens next.
