The first doctor Iv seen that actually listens and speaks to you like a person. Interested in getting to the root of the problem.
Very intelligent and friendly.
Does not communicate with patients. He did a biopsy and didn't inform me. When the results came back he was on vacation, and I was told the results came back unusual. I couldn't talk to anyone in the office as the whole office was closed. I couldn't get feedback from ANYONE. AFTER 2 weeks I was finally able to get into my family doctor who received the results and informed me that the sore on my tongue was benign. Is arrogant and thoughtless towards his patients. I was scared and abandoned by this man who did not give a second thought to my well being, physically or emotionally.
This guy may be a good doctor but he's not a good person.
My experience with Dr. Shearer has been one of mutual respect, with an acknowledgement on his part that I'm 100% engaged in assisting him optimize my health and that I'm capable of understanding the knowledge he's so willing and capable of sharing. And I am filled with gratitude that first off he recognized I was "crashing," that he had the knowledge to suspect the problem (as countless other MDs did not), knew what unusual test to run to confirm his suspicions and then immediately began treating me as a result of his findings. Mount Shasta is beyond lucky to have such a knowledgeable and dedicated doctor practicing here.
